Reverse Engineering

If you have an obsolete component that needs reproducing, or an existing product that requires improvement, and no drawings or CAD models of it, we can produce all the information needed to manufacture the product again.

Whether you need a surface model or a full parametric Solidworks file, PCMS has a solution. Our engineers have experience in working with a wide variety of CAD packages including Solidworks, Alphacam, Mastercam and Rhino.
We can create CAD data for you in most industry standard formats and advise on the most appropriate materials and specifications for your parts (including appropriate tolerances and identification of critical dimensions).

And then, if required, produce tooling, prototype parts or production runs.

Repurposing a bottling plant

We were given a damaged existing part to work from, we reverse engineered the model to suit the new process and machined the new part.

Remanufacturing of rare or discontinued parts

The picture shows a mould tool being machined for an Aston Martin DB7 Headlight Cover.
We digitised the cover, and programmed, then manufactured a vacuum form tool to produce the replacement lens.
A DB7 owner came to us with the idea, as the only way to replace the headlight cover at the moment is a new 1000 pound full assembly.
