Need a prototype fast? A custom enclosure perhaps? Or maybe some end of arm tooling for your robot! Our functional 3D printing service utilises CFF technology from Markforged and SLA from Formlabs to provide prototype or functional end use parts.
Printing with the Markforged we can embed fastenings and other components and reinforce parts with continuous Carbon, Kevlar or Glass fibres to produce strong, stiff, lightweight parts, for example the chassis shown below has been reinforced with Carbon fibre for stiffness and has PEEK nuts embedded to keep the weight to a minimum.
The Formlabs printers benefit from a wide choice of resin types and incredible definition as shown by the selection of parts printed in “Grey” and “Tough” that can be seen below. This printer allows us to give affordable, industrial-quality 3D prints that look great, whilst remaining functionally strong. Formlabs SLA gives the opportunity for strong intricate areas to be reliably produced.
PCMS have been keeping up to date with the latest functional 3D printing services for years now, and can therefore provide help with design issues, or with the decision making process on how to get the best results on a project by project basis. We have successfully worked with clients from a range of industries including automotive, education, film and security.
A variety of post-processing techniques are available to use on our functional prints, including abrasive work or professional painting, whether this is to improve the form or function of the component. In certain cases, it is also possible or necessary to apply our CNC machining service to enhance the 3D printed parts.
PCMS can supply a complete range of CNC services for your milling and routing requirements.
